چکیده

ThermoCatalytic Decomposition of methane (TCD) is studied as a method to convert natural gas into hydrogen and functional carbon. In these processes the carbon typically formed on top catalyst phase leading particle growth. Therefore, development growth model necessary understand limitations thermocatalytic decomposition assess optimal parameters process conditions. this paper, presented describe particle. This coupled requires kinetic equations information deactivation rates which have been from literature. The morphology changes due formation, leads eventual deactivation. expressions are based analogy with particles in polyolefin production. To combine effects growth, kinetics, internal heat mass transfer, Multi-Grain Model (MGM) was used. Results confirm that currently available catalysts yield not affected by transfer limitations, however, availability more active will become important. Temperature, has significant role it regulates rate thus rate, turn influences optimum temperature for production nano-carbon, within reasonable time, therefore sensitively depends choice catalyst.

Numerical analysis of microwave assisted thermocatalytic decomposition of methane

A comprehensive 3D coupled mathematical model is developed to study the microwave assisted thermocatalytic decomposition of methane with activated carbon as the catalyst. A simple reaction kinetic model for methane conversion (accounting for catalyst deactivation) is developed from previously published experimental data and coupled with the governing equations for the microwaves, heat transfer,...

Modeling of Methane Hydrate Decomposition by Using Chemical Affinity

In this work, experimental kinetics data of methane hydrate decomposition at temperatures ranging from 272.15 to 276.15 K and at pressures ranging from 10 to 30 bars were modeled by using chemical affinity. This model proposed a macroscopic model which is independent of any intermediate mechanism like heat or mass transfer. The results show there is good agreement with experimental data. Al...
